Central Library Concierge

Central is the first stop for many new residents and visitors to Arlington. As a Central Library Concierge, you’ll enhance the customer service offered to new library users by making visitors feel welcome and providing directions and assistance. In many cases, a welcoming smile is all it takes to make a new library user want to come back again and again!

Responsibilities:
- Meet and greet visitors in the Central Library foyer.
- Provide general information about amenities the Central Library offers; direct library patrons to various library service points, copy machines, restrooms and other locations within the building.
- Direct users to other downtown Arlington major institutions as needed (City Hall, Municipal Office Tower, Tarrant County SubCourthouse, Arlington Museum of Art, UTA, etc.).
- Distribute selected printed informational material as needed.
- Assist with locating reserved books and utilizing self-service machines as needed.
Required Skills:
- A Smile!
- Excellent communication skills.
- Friendly, welcoming demeanor and ability to get along with a diverse group of people.
- Knowledge of downtown Arlington.
- Knowledge of languages other than English is helpful, but not required.
- Ability to make a minimum commitment of 2-3 hours per week for a period of at least 3 months and availability during the evenings or weekends a plus.
