“I love what I do for a living...”

I've worked at the Arlington Public Library for almost 5 years. I am currently a collection development and web librarian. I order books and dvds, and I work on our website! As Henry David Thoreau wrote, "Do what you love." And I do! My favorite part of being a librarian is that the learning never ends, and the learning for my job can be completely varied from one day to the next.

I probably read about 50% non-fiction, 50% fiction. I enjoy cooking, history, and all of the craft books. I have also been known to read offbeat non-fiction books on esoteric subjects. When I'm at home, you can catch me baking bread, reading to my kids, or playing video games. I'm firmly stuck in the generation that grew up with Atari and Nintendo and have graduated to the Xbox 360. My kids say I'm a clean freak, but only by a boy's definition of clean. I also know a bit about science fiction, genealogy, and romance novels.

Quite an eclectic collection of favorites and I can relate. I really enjoyed Back To The Future back in the day and Em' and I live watching the new True Blood episodes when they come around. Thanks for maintaining this blog and keeping us up on new releases. :)
