“No end of YA book readers to conspire with...”

Hanging out with teens and coming up with crazy program themes and ideas are some of the most fun things I get to do at the Arlington Public Library. I find working with teens is a rewarding experience… plus I have no end of young adult book readers to conspire with!

Occasionally you’ll see me working at the Northeast Branch, but I’m also frequently at The Studio in the Central Library too. I also get to order young adult fiction and audiovisual materials, which definitely helps me keep up with what’s new and cool in the realm of teen books.

No Problem I LOVE it.... I can't wait for the Second Wednesday this month so I can go and help out... I had TONS of FUN last month... Hope your Fourth of July Holiday was AWESOME!!! See you next week.
Hi Jenny. I was looking at your favorite books, and I saw that one of them is "I am the Messenger" by Markus Zusak. Have you read Zusak's "The Book Thief"? It's my favorite book, and if you haven't already read it, I strongly recommend it.
Yes I have read The Book Thief. It is an amazing book and I love recommending it to others too! He has a new book coming out in the fall called The Bridge of Clay.
Hi. Did you know when you were a kid that you wanted to work around books?
Hi Claryce! Actually I didn't really know I wanted to work around books. All I did know was that I loved books and had a vivid imagination that often got me into trouble. I spent a lot of time in the public library when I was younger and would help myself to as many books as my bike could carry. It wasn't until I graduated college and ended up in a random discussion with another librarian that I realized librarianship was a great fit for me. It takes equal amounts of tech experience, creativity, and smarts to do my job and I absolutely love how well it fits with my personality. I hope that answers your question. Thanks for all the help you give us in Teen Services! :)
