Introducing OneClickdigital, replacing NetLibrary Downloadable Audiobooks!

July 19, 2011
ARLINGTON, TX—

We've mentioned for a while that NetLibrary would be replaced by two new services, one for Downloadable Audiobooks and one for eBooks. This is the week!

NetLibrary transition

Downloadable Audiobooks

The time is now: By Thursday July 21, NetLibrary will be gone. As of today, OneClickdigital, the new Downloadable Audiobook platform, is up and running! After a quick one-time account set-up process that only requires an Arlington Public Library card, you will be able to checkout and download from the audiobook collection that was previously accessed through NetLibrary.

OneClickdigital features:

  • Simple account creation process you can do yourself!
  • All titles are iPod®-compatible!
  • “One-Click” transfer straight to a portable device
  • User-friendly site for viewing new releases, saving and filtering searches, and much more
  • Thousands of titles from other publishers—Penguin, Hachette, Tantor, and many others
  • Exclusive Recorded Books content
  • 3- to 5-minute previews of all audio titles
  • Direct patron support email — support@oneclickdigital.com

Because OneClickdigital is still in BETA testing, they will be using the next month to gather feedback so that they can continue to enhance our product. Give them your feedback by July 30 to be registered for a chance to win an iPod touch! Be sure to complete the survey once you try it out!

eBooks

The transition to EbscoHost for NetLibrary eBooks will occur by the end of this week. Stay tuned for details as they become available. It will also involve a one-time set-up process using only your library card number.

Please note: Neither of these changes affect our OverDrive eBook & Downloadable Audiobook service.
Also, any titles you currently have checked out from NetLibrary should continue to be usable throughout the original loan period.

OverDrive is good. OneClick is the worst thing I have ever run into on the net.
