Colonel Neel E. Kearby Memorial

Within the next two weeks or so, work will begin on the west side of the Central Library for the installation of a statue honoring Col. Neel Kearby, a World War II Medal of Honor winner who died in air combat in the Pacific theater of operation in 1944. He was an Arlington resident who graduated from Arlington High School and attended the University of Texas Arlington when it was called the North Texas Agricultural College. Plans are for completion of installation of the statue in time for a November 11th Veterans Day dedication ceremony.
