April 2011 - The Fishing Librarian Celebrity Reads Poster - Marc Marchand

April 2011 Celebrity Reads Poster
Marc Marchand, Library Services Manager for East Arlington
“Like the outdoors, reading provides so many opportunities for parents and children to have meaningful and fun conversations. My three year old daughter helped choose this book for me. We took our first fishing trip out together in the boat this past summer, and it was just the two of us. While the fish weren’t biting all that well, we had lots of fun wondering how many fish we would catch. Would it be one fish or two fish? Or, maybe even a red fish or a blue fish. It was a moment of fun and silliness shared because of a common language we found inspired by a book. That common language, provided by reading and the outdoors, will certainly help us explore some of life’s more complex questions together when she and her younger sister are older. And, it all started with One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish. ” —Marc Marchand
Be sure to check out The Fishing Librarian's blog, where he dispenses fishing advice and reading suggestions equally.
