How to Help
Donations
The Friends of the Arlington Public Library is a 501(c)(3) tax exempt corporation. Donations and contributions to the Friends are tax deductible. Donations of materials (books, CDs, records, audio & video tapes, computer hardware and software) may be taken to any library location. The Library also passes along unneeded items.

Volunteer Opportunities
Our volunteer members enjoy books, libraries and working to make the library system even better.
Book Sale
Staff our semiannual book sales as cashiers, clerks and stockers.
Book Sorting
Over 100,000 donated items are sorted and priced for the book sales each year. Sorting is done at our warehouse on Mondays (9 a.m. to noon). The warehouse/office is located at 2205 W. Division, Suite G-4 (on the right, way in the back).
Internet Book Sales
Computer literate volunteers are needed to assist with the online store.
Book and Author Luncheon
The semiannual book and author luncheons are a great opportunity to contribute different talents. Our tradition is to showcase metroplex authors. Anyone who enjoys books and food will love working on this committee.
Board and Committee Positions
The Friends Board of Directors is a working board and each director is required to assume responsibility for a job of his/her choice. These assignments offer an opportunity to become familiar with the workings of the Friends.
Other Ways to Help

Book Bags
Sturdy canvas book bags are available for purchase at all the library locations. They are convenient for all your trips to the Library and make excellent gifts.
Flashdrives, headphones, and recordable CD-Rs are also available.
Paper Recycling Bin
Our recycling bin is located at our warehouse location, between buildings “D” and “H” on the west side of the center driveway. Newspapers, magazines or anything which can be torn may be deposited in the bin (cardboard boxes must be flattened).
