Dog Days at the Library
Date, Location
Saturday, February 11, 2012, 10:30 am - 12:00 pm
Southwest Branch Library Community RoomOur popular children’s reading program is back after a brief break! This regularly scheduled program brings trained therapy dogs and their owners, especially trained to listen to young readers, to our library.
Children, ages 5 and up, can come read to a patient dog for 15 minutes. Parents are encouraged to stay back and watch their child become comfortable reading to his or her canine buddy. At least four dog therapy organizations are now participating in this worthwhile literacy program.
Programs will all be on the second Saturday of the month, from October through April at the Southwest Branch Library. Online registration is no longer necessary but we encourage families to come early and sign up for a quarter hour time slot.
